Privacy policy

Tukka operates Sketched Books at sketched-books.tukka.dev. This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit the site. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email contact[at]tukka[dot]dev.

1. What you do here. There are no accounts, forms or comments. You read pages, and the sketches are drawn by models running in your browser. What you read and the sketches it draws are never sent anywhere.
2. Your own books. When you open an EPUB, your browser reads it on your device and keeps it in its own storage, with the scene descriptions it writes for it. The file and its text are never uploaded. You can remove a book from the library at any time.
3. Downloads. When you choose to draw the scenes, your browser downloads the drawing model (about 167 MB) from our file storage, which Cloudflare runs, and keeps it in its cache so it doesn't download again. For your own books it also downloads the models that read each passage (about 510 MB).
4. Browser storage. Your browser's local storage keeps one random ID for analytics, the last passage you read (so you can continue later) and whether you turned the sketches on, and its database keeps the books you opened. None of it is tied to your name or your device. Clearing the site's data removes it all, the cached models included.
5. Analytics. Our own analytics counts visits using that random ID, the page address, the referring site, the country worked out from your IP address, and your browser, operating system and device type. These records are kept for 40 days and then deleted. The IP address itself is not stored. There are no ads and no third-party trackers.
6. Service providers. Our server is hosted in France. Cloudflare delivers and protects the site and its files, and may process network information to do so, including in other countries. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information when the law requires it or to deal with abuse.
7. Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to its use, or complain to your data protection authority. Since we keep almost nothing, there is usually nothing to hand over.
8. Changes. We'll update this page and its date when anything here changes. This policy covers Sketched Books only.
